The most common ways sound will travel throughout a building is through airborne and structure borne transmission. Airborne sounds, such as television, music and speech is carried through the airspaces separating living areas, including intermediate floors and partition walls. Structure borne sound, such as footsteps or something dropping are carried by vibration through the fabric of a building.
Our Thermal Insulation rolls are suitable for reducing airborne sound transfer as they will reduce the airspace in the internal walls and floors.
To reduce structure borne sound transmission, we also supply a number of products to suit a variety of applications. Please use the navigation on the left to find out more about our AcousticUnderlay products.
